Welcome to Gastown Riot
Hailing from Calgary, Alberta, Gastown Riot is a British-Canadian rock band comprising of three Prairie boys from SK and AB and two blokes from the UK. Pairing rock anthem sound with poignantly written lyrics, the band features frontman Scott Schroeder, with his deep, smooth vocals alongside guitarists Bryan Schubert and Kas White, bassist Arran Sahota and the band’s pulse, drummer Brian Phippard. With two of the band’s members serving as Firefighters, Gastown Riot’s music is written and performed with a depth and emotion reflective of their experiences and appreciation for the human condition.
Gastown Riot is emerging as one of Canada's "breakout bands" releasing new music and hitting stages across the country, climbing the radio charts and gathering new fans one spin at a time.

Our Story
Gastown Riot’s music project blends new grooves with a throwback style, captivating audiences with live performances and recorded music.
Founded in 2022 by 4 first responders, the band has ebbed and flowed with adjustments to its music and band members, having evolved throughout that process to arrive at its final five members and the sound it is today.
Gastown Riot's songwriting is authentic and catchy, performed with a larger than life energy that keeps listeners hooked and hyped for more!
